UEFA Euro 2024: Everything You Need to Know

What is UEFA Euro 2024?

UEFA Euro 2024, officially known as the UEFA European Football Championship 2024, is the 17th edition of the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organized by UEFA. It will be hosted by Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024.

Tournament Format

The tournament will feature 24 teams, which will be divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16, where they will be joined by the four best third-placed teams. The knockout stage will be played in a single-elimination format, culminating in the final on July 14 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Host Venues

The tournament will be played in ten cities across Germany: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart. The Allianz Arena in Munich will host the opening match, the semi-finals, and the final, while the other venues will host the group stage and round of 16 matches.

Qualifying Process

The qualifying process for UEFA Euro 2024 began in March 2023 and will conclude in March 2024. Fifty-three UEFA member associations are participating in the qualifying competition, with the top two teams from each of the ten qualifying groups automatically qualifying for the tournament. The remaining three spots will be decided through play-offs in March 2024.
