Father-Son Duo Killed in Plane Crash After Beer-Drinking Flight
Tragic Incident Raises Concerns About Aviation Safety
Video Footage Shows Father Down Beer While Son Pilots
Shocking video footage has emerged of a father downing beer while his young son pilots their plane moments before a tragic crash that claimed their lives. The incident has raised serious concerns over aviation safety and the responsibilities of pilots.
Garon Maia, 42, a Brazilian rancher, was recording his 11-year-old son Francisco at the controls of their US$12 million S16 plane when the incident occurred. The video shows Maia drinking beer and appearing visibly intoxicated as his son handled the aircraft.
Tragically, both Maia and his son were killed when the plane crashed into the rainforest on July 29. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but the video footage has raised questions about the father's judgment and the level of supervision required during flights involving young pilots.
